MIM-23 Hawk - Rocketarium

The Raytheon MIM-23 HAWK is an American-made surface-to-air missile (SAM). The term "HAWK" stands for Homing All the Way Killer.

It is a medium-range, semi-active radar-guided SAM that entered service in 1960 and has been upgraded numerous times since. It is similar to the Soviet SA-3 Goa but with a guidance system more similar to the SA-6 Gainful. It was very successful in service, so much so that by the mid-1980s, approximately 40,000 had been built, and production continued for at least a few more years. Although it was phased out by the United States in 1997, to be replaced by the SLAMRAAM (Surface-Launched AMRAAM), it is still in use in several parts of the world.

This is a model kit of MIM-23 HAWK surface-to-air missile. The kit comes with 24mm Motor Mount and Balsa fins and channels. We supplied pre-marked tubes, so kit is not difficult to build. This is an "easy-to-paint" model.
