Easy returns for kits and accessories

This kit belongs to the “Classic” line of kits made by Klima, the only european manufacturer of rocket kits and accessories. Rocket kits of this line need to be fully assembled, have wooden fins, slotted body tube and require painting. The self adhesive decals included add a touch of colour to your color scheme.

Features:

The Callisto is a small rocket with a classic shape. It is a perfect kit to teach a beginner the basis of rocket kits assembling. Thanks to its clever design, it is impossible to make mistakes in assembling it.

The rocket flies with both Klima or Estes A, B and C motors, from a standard Launch Pad with a 3 mm launch rrod. It can be launched also with Klima 18 mm D9 motors, although it will be hard to see it when it reaches the highest altitude!

Body tube is white kraft cardboard with three pre-cut fins slots, fins are precisely cut from very light yet strong plywood, the nosecone is glossy black plastic, and the parachute has to be cut from plastic sheet, with instructions printed directly on it.

As usual with Klima kits, fins have a tab which is inserted into the slots cut in the body tube for a greater strength. This also makes impossible to glue the fins disaligned.

The shock cord is the classic Klima-style, half kevlar and half elastic cord, and it is tied to the motor mount.

Instructions are complete and rich of pictures, and are written in English, German, French, Spanish and Italian.

Time for assembly varies from one hour to two hours, depending on your decision to paint it or not.

The kit includes self-adhesive decals, however.

As said above, the Callisto flies with 18 mm engines. You can use either Klima or Estes, but if you want to use the most powerful motor in this size you have to choose Klima D9-7. Do not use this motor for your first flight, if you don't want to lose your Callisto the first time you flight it.

We suggest to fly it with a Klima A6-4 or an Estes A8-3 for the first time, especially if you fly this rocket for a child. It will be easier to follow the flight and to recover it.

The recovery is via a 40 cm plastic parachute, which must be cut from the pre-printed plastic sheet included, with printed instructions on it, and the shroud lines must be fixed to the parachute.

  • Kraft cardboard body tube with pre-cut slots for fins.
