Calypso model rocket belongs to the "Quick & Easy" familiy from the only European manufacturer of rocket kits and accessories.

This line of kits includes very basic rockets, easy to assemble and intended mainly for beginners and for economical Klima and Estes engines.

The Calypso is a nice rocket with a diameter of 35 mm and a fully coloured paint scheme. Like its “brothers” of the same rocket series, the plastic fins are slided in guides on plastic fin can, which guarantees a perfect alignment without any special care, and the fin can is slided onto the body tube in turn.

The launch guide is integrated in this support and thus it does not require to be glued to the fuselage and is already perfectly aligned.

Instructions are very comprehensive and enriched by clear illustrations. Being an european made rocket kit, the instructions are written in english, german, french, spanish and italian.

You can assemble the Calypso in 15 to 45 minutes, depending on your skill or if you want to paint it.

Klima designers choose to adopt the same shock cord design of Quest rocket kits. This is a wise decision as the shock cord is attached to the motor mount, and not to the body tube where it could disturb the ejection of the parachute. The shock cord itself is made of Kevlar and elastic cord, therfore it is very strong and will survive the effects of ejection charges forever.

As with all the kits of the Quick & Easy family, the body tube is glossy white and does not require painting. This rocket has a very colorful paint scheme, with its yellow fin can, a red nosecone and its bright self-adhesive decals .

The Calypso flies with 18 mm standard engines, from B to D, therefore both Klima and Estes can be used.

Recovery is guaranteed by a 40 cm plastic parachute. The parachute needs to be cut from a printed plastic sheet included, with instructions printed on it, and the shroud lines have to be added.

To launch this rocket you need a launch pad with 3mm launch rod, like the Klima Pad or Estes Astron II or Porta Pad, and a launch controller like the Klima Controller, the Astron II Estes Launch Controller or Estes Electron Beam.

Engines, glue and batteries are not included.
