Description

Although this motor is part of the High Power family of Aerotech reloadable motors, it is not an actual High Power motor because it uses only G-type reloads which does not require an High Power certificaton to be used.
You can use this motor in any rocket made for 29 mm motors, like some Public Missiles and Madcow Rocketry, or Estes Pro Series kits using G reloads. It is also a good starting point for High Power rocketry as you need to purchase only a longer casing to use High Power reload kits.

This motor is assembled in a similar way of the smaller reloadable motors, like the RMS 29/40-120 or the RMS 24/40 therefore it is nothing different from what you are used to.

RMS motors are made of aircraft-grade aluminum and consists of three parts: the case, the forward closure and the aft closure. The forward closure holds the delay and the parachute ejection charge, the rear closure holds the nozzle and, being of a larger diameter than the motor body, it acts as an engine block as it butts up against the motor mount tube.

To use this motor you have to choose a reload, assemble it following the instructions, dispose of the residues after each flight and clean the motor accurately. The motor can be used an indefinite number of times.

NOTE: There is often some confusion between this RMS 29/120 reloadable motor and the RMS 29/120 reloadable motor (consumer line), made from Aerotech as well. This RMS 29/120 can take only G type High Power-style reloads, G79W-M and G77R-M. These reloads are different from those made for RMS 29/40-120 and cannot be used in that motor. Conversely, the reloads made for RMS 29/40-120 motor, like the G64 or the F40, cannot be used in this RMS 29/120 motor.

When to use this engine?

Probably the best use of this engine is when you want to power your rocket with a strong G motor but you want a motor that can be upgraded when you are ready to take your Level 1 High Power certification.

The following reloads can be used with this motor:G79W
G77R
