The Peregrine is a robust, double deployment, high power rocket suitable for those who have already achieved Level 1 certification. Although designed for expert model makers, it is relatively easy to build and includes the electronic bay, two parachutes and a complete set of decals.
The Peregrine is equipped with a double deployment system. The purpose of the double deployment is to allow a rapid descent of the model to prevent it from being transported away by the wind, and to brake it close to the ground to make it land slowly.
This rocket is quite large, it is 174 cm long and has a diameter of 100 mm. Once finished, its weight is about 2.5 kg and therefore will not reach very high altitudes, but thanks to its size you can easily follow it throughout the flight. The motor mount is 38 mm.
What distinguishes this model from others is above all the shape of its backward-curved stabilizers, a shape that is rarely seen in High Power models and that makes it particularly attractive. The two sheets of colored and metallic decals included in the kit will make its appearance even more appealing.
The kit uses traditional materials: kraft cardboard tubes, aviation plywood centering discs, wooden parts and of course aeronautical birch plywood stabilizers. The electronic bay, also to be assembled, is included with all the necessary hardware. The support structure of the fins is interlocking to ensure perfect alignment and easier assembly.
The Peregrine kit includes two colored nylon parachutes (45 cm for the drogue, and 120 cm for the main one), tubular nylon shock cords and the 30 cm Nomex protections for the parachutes.
As in all Apogee kits, the instructions are extremely detailed, almost in a manic way.
