This composite material comes from the same supplier of world famous Lamborghini and Ferrari cars, where it is used. It is made by sandwiching a nomex honeycomb between two sheets of fiberglass. It is much stronger than wood, more rigid than G10 of same thickness, but three times lighter.
It’s the perfect material for fins of your project up to 4” in diameter. Each sheet of 40 x 25 cm weighs in at 180 gr ONLY!
Once cut, the nomex honeycomb is exposed at the edges. A wood dowel or strip glued to the edges is required to finish them properly.
